365 Days in Photos

I'm going to try to put a photo up here each day for a whole year.

September 29, 2010 (Day 60)

Well, today's theme is 'blue' and there's some blue on the truck we picked up today.
Now we just gotta load it up.

September 28, 2010 (Day 59)

Today's theme is 'something old,' and since Kamloops will soon be in the past to me, I'm taking some pictures to remember my hometown.
This one was taken on the street where we've lived since December 2009, and will be our home for another 2 days.

September 27, 2010 (Day 58)

Today's theme is our seven day forecast. So here's my to do list for this week.

September 26, 2010 (Day 57)

I've packed away all my candles already so I can't photograph one for today's theme. Oh well. Here's a picture I took today on the Thompson Rivers University campus. Mark works on campus and I was meeting him after work. This is one entrance to the horticulture garden. They sometimes have weddings here. Isn't it beautiful?

September 25, 2010 (Day 56)

And here's Jackie wearing today's theme: hoodies!

September 24, 2010 (Day 55)

Since the theme is "Signs of Fall," I decided to take a picture of my friend Jackie's mom's garden.

September 23, 2010 (Day 54)

Today's theme is bubble gum, but I don't chew it, and I don't know anyone who does. So here's a screenshot of the MMORPG I recently started playing. It's called Lord of the Rings Online and it just became free to play.
In this picture, you can see my character Carwen following my sister's character Oswyn. However, a humourous glitch at the time gave her the name 'Door.' I had to screengrab it before it resolved itself.

September 22, 2010 (Day 53)

We visited some dear friends of ours in their new home in Knutsford. It is a beautiful house and yard in the country about 10 minutes from Kamloops. I especially liked the kitchen. The stovetop and oven are completely out of the way, allowing for a lot of counterspace.

September 21, 2010 (Day 52)

Not following the theme today.
We went to one of our favourite restaurants for dinner tonight.

September 20, 2010 (Day 51)

Theme for today is someone sleeping, and I forgot to take the picture until late at night after we went to bed, but that turned out perfect, since I got this picture of Mark sleeping.

September 19, 2010 (Day 50)

Day 50's theme is purple, and I have a lot of purple stuff, but it's mostly all packed away already. We're moving in less than 2 weeks. Yikes. So I searched around until I found something purple: my toothbrush.

September 18. 2010 (Day 49)

We visited the Dollar Store today and, since the theme is orange, I took this shot of the Halloween aisle.

Friday, September 17, 2010

September 17, 2010 (Day Day 48)

Not doing the theme today, 'cause I found this in a bag of Miss Vicky's potato chips and I thought it looked really cool. Mark thinks it looks like an ear. lol
It tasted yummy. :)

September 16, 2010 (Day 47)

Today's theme is cleaning products. I love this huge jug of laundry soap we got. It's got a spout like one of those big juice jugs you can rent from McDonald's. So much fun to use.

September 14, 2010 (Day 45)

I can hardly believe what just happened to the stove in our rental suite. I had it turned on to 350F and my brother opened the door - and the window shattered. I've never heard of such a thing happening.

September 12 & 13, 2010 (Day 43, 44)

Said Goodbye to Charlotte, Keith, Aidan, Josiah, and Ezra, and drove home. We don't know when we'll be able to come visit again. We're moving out of the province on October 4 and it will cost much more money to get to Abbotsford. I'll miss them until we see them again.

September 11, 2010 (Day 42)

Our hotel room, like most hotel rooms, has complimentary disposable shower caps. Mark said he's "always wanted to wear a shower cap"(guess he never has), so he put it on, then tried to pull it down over his sideburns.

September 10, 2010 (Day 41)

We have an old car and the tape deck doesn't work, so we rigged up these speakers to my brother's iPod for music on the trip.

Friday, September 10, 2010

September 9, 2010 (Day 40)

Today's theme is art and tomorrow's theme is music. Tomorrow I'm going to be traveling from Kamloops to Abbotsford, so I'll take a picture on the way. Therefore, I decided to use this photo today. My brother Raymond gave us these for an anniversary present because we both love books and music. They're bookends. We love them.

September 8, 2010 (Day 39)

I went for a walk today along Westsyde Road and snapped this picture of the North Thompson River. I live in a beautiful city. I will miss it when we move to Regina next month. I better take lots of photos before we leave. :)

September 6, 2010 (Day 37)

Our theme today is our hobby, and since I've always loved reading any chance I get, I took a picture of the book I just finished, "Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony" by Eoin Colfer.

Sunday, September 5, 2010

September 5, 2010 (Day 36)

For today's theme we are to post a picture of our favourite electronic device. My mini laptop is definitely mine. It cost less than $300 and it does everything I need a computer to do.
Oh yeah, and it's displaying my favourite website here:

September 4, 2010 (Day 35)

Today was the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of my church: Kamloops Full Gospel Tabernacle. We had a barbeque with special speakers and we rented some bouncy castles from Fun Factor for the kids. It was a good day. I'm so glad, because after yesterday, I needed a lift.

September 3, 2010 (Day 34)

My cat Oliver was 7 years old this spring. I remember when I first got him, my sister Charlotte and I were living and working in Jasper, Alberta. We lived in a basement with several other workers. Charlotte would often get home before I would and Oliver would sit with her while she read or watched tv. She told me that every time the outside door would open, he would lift his head and prick his ears, and then if someone else's room door opened, he would lie down again. But if our door opened and I came in, he would jump off her lap and run to greet me, excited that I was home.
I have been living in rental places that don't allow pets, so I left him with my dad and brothers. My youngest brother Charlie and Oliver became very close over the years. Yesterday, Charlie called me and said they were bringing Oliver into town to the vet because he hadn't been eating or drinking for a couple of days. He seemed to be in pain when he tried to chew and/or swallow. I met them and went to the vet with them.
Oliver wouldn't let the vet look into his mouth to see what was wrong. He was very scared of this strange place we'd taken him to. So the vet gave him anesthesia so he could check inside his mouth. The vet found a lump at the base of Oliver's tongue. He said it was most likely a carcinoma: a tumour. It could be removed, but would only grow back larger, and the removal would be invasive and cause Oliver pain. We could send him to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for radiation treatment, but that might not work either, and would cause Oliver much pain and suffering, and costs $4000+.
I signed the papers to have my cat put down. He never woke up as we didn't want to cause him pain and fear, so Charlie and I said goodbye while he slept quietly on the examining table. We were both crying. I'm going to miss my little kitty.

September 2, 2010 (Day 33)

Today was our second day at this hotel, and we saw this awesome truck in the parking lot. I just had to get a picture of it. The license plate says "REZ NECK" - I think the owner/driver must work here, since this is a student residence during the school year and they call it the "Rez."

September 1, 2010 (Day 32)

Today is our 1st anniversary and all my friends have been texting or IMing me with wishes for a wonderful, relaxing day. Hah! We had made plans to stay at the hotel we stayed at last year on Sep 1 & 2 (our wedding night and the following night). We booked it again this year for Sep 1 & 2. So our landlords decided to have workmen come in to our place on Sep 2 since we're not there all day. Great, except that means we had to move most of our stuff out into a storage unit and we didn't find out until last night. So today, our anniversary, was spent packing and moving boxes.
