365 Days in Photos

I'm going to try to put a photo up here each day for a whole year.

January 31, 2011 (Day 182)

Today is my 32nd birthday.
I had to work 8am-4:30pm and Mark works 2-10pm. So we're planning to do something to celebrate my birthday tomorrow. Mark asked me this morning what I wanted for my birthday and I said I didn't know. There's not really anything in particular that I want. So we talked about going to dinner tomorrow and maybe playing some mini golf. We both really enjoy mini golf and we haven't done it in a few years.

I got home from work and had supper and checked my Facebook and my email, then went into the bedroom to get ready for bed, and found this:

He bought me 2 DVDs, a CD, a pair of pj pants, and a box of chocolates. Then I noticed that the comforter and the matching pillow shams are also new. He's so incredibly sweet. This brought tears to my eyes.
The sign on the pillows says, "Happy Birthday. I love you. Mark Jones. Happily Ever After."

January 30, 2011 (Day 181)

The pastor's sermon today was all about the gifts God has given us. Very appropriate for me, as tomorrow is my birthday.

"However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ."
Ephesians 4:7 NLT

January 29, 2011 (Day 180)

I met a Mary Kay lady through Welcome Wagon and went to her house today for a free makeover/product demo. I've always really liked and wanted the Satin Hands products, and today I bought them. :)

January 28, 2011 (Day 179)

I got off work at 8pm and Mark was off at 10pm, and I had the car, so I went to McDonalds to wait and played Scrabble on my phone.

January 27, 2010 (Day 178)

January 24 - 26, 2011 (Days 175, 176, 177)

We found a Wendy's in Regina that we really like. It's much nicer than the Wendy's/Tim Horton's on Victoria Ave. It reminds us of the North Shore Wendy's back home in Kamloops.

I had leftovers for lunch at work. Chicken and sweet potato. Yum.

We hung out with Mark's mom and his neice's son Talon. What an awesome kid.

January 23, 2010 (Day 174)

It's a beautiful day today in Regina. The temperature is hovering around freezing, which is a nice change from the 20-40 below we've been having. The sun is out and the snow is gleaming. It is windy, though, which is the only thing that keeps this from being a perfect winter day.

January 22, 2011 (Day 173)

Mark works tonight, so he's not here for supper. I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich - something I love that I'm actually pretty good at making. I make it with real cheddar cheese, not that fake junk.

January 21, 2011 (Day 172)

Mark found this cool glow stick thingy at work so we broke the inside to make it glow. These things never last long, and this looked really cool, so I took a picture.

January 20, 2011 (Day 171)

Today's picture is rather poor quality since it is a picture of my television screen. We got a new game - Lego Indiana Jones - and we've been playing it every chance we get.

Thursday, January 20, 2011

January 19, 2010 (Day 170)

We didn't do much today. But for supper we had stir fried veggies on noodles with chicken drumsticks on the side. It was very good.

January 18, 2010 (Day 169)

So the boots I bought on Sunday didn't work out, and I had to return them. The heel on the left boot was too soft and would mush under my foot with each step. So I got these instead. And they were $10 cheaper. :)

January 17, 2011 (Day 168)

I finished watching Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix yesterday. I took a screenshot of one of my favourite scenes of the final episode. Aang (the Avatar) is fighting the evil Fire Lord and he summons a sphere of air, water, fire, and earth which surrounds him.

I highly recommend this series to any who like fantasy stories. It's one of the best animated series I've seen, and it's as good as or better than some live action series I've seen.

January 16, 2010 (Day 167)

The only boots I've owned so far this winter are ankle boots that have no grip to speak of and it's gotten very slippery here. So today, I went to Wal-Mart and bought new boots. Unfortunately, I had to get one size too large since high boots like these never fit my calves.

On the positive, they have great grip and they're very warm and comfy.

January 12 - 15, 2011 (Days 165 - 168)

We lost our internet access for 3 days and just now have it back.
Jeremy's birthday party was on Saturday at Chuck E Cheese. The kids had a lot of fun.

January 11, 2011 (Day 164)

1.11.11

Yes, the date is all ones today. And I never realized until tonight. Oh well. Nothing much happened today. So here's a picture of our supper: fish, rice, and green beans. Simple, yet yummy.

January 10, 2011 (Day 163)

Theme: What I did on Sunday (yesterday)

Mark and I went with Kendal and Robyn, and Mark's dad to the IMAX theatre to see Avatar. There were some extra scenes that I didn't remember from the theatrical release. Also, IMAX 3D is quite different from the 3D in a regular theatre. Robyn and I both got a little sick from vertigo.

January 9, 2011 (Day 162)

Theme: The view out your door on a winter day

I took this picture around 7:30am as we left the house Sunday morning.

January 6, 7, & 8, 2011 (Days 159, 160, & 161)

Quesadillas!

I just taught myself to make quesadillas, and they're so easy. For those who don't know, it's just a tortilla warmed in a frying pan, covered with cheese and anything else you want, then folded over. On Thursday night, we had chicken quesadillas with peppers, onions, and tomatoes.

Last night, Mark was working and I made myself a tomato quesadilla.

Saturday morning, we made scrambled egg quesadillas with tomatoes, chicken, peppers, and onions. Mmmmm.

Here it is in the pan before being folded.

And on the plate after folding and slicing.

And with salsa and sour cream (and more cheese) on top.

January 5, 2010 (Day 158)

I got my hair trimmed today, and it doesn't really look any different than it did before. Hopefully it's easier to style now. It was getting way too long.

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

January 4, 2010 (Day 157)

Theme: Tattoos

We don't have tattoos (not that we don't like them; we can't afford them), but I found this in the Dollar Giant today. It's a pack of 2 cigarette lighters (which I wouldn't buy since we don't smoke) with the brand name Tattooworks. They were so bizarre and fit the theme, so I had to take a pic.

December 29, 2010 - January 3, 2011 (Days 150 - 156)

Been so busy this past week.

Went to Mark's aunt Anna's for tarts.

Robyn took this pic of Kendal at Anna's.

Kendal was playing with the magnets on Anna's fridge.

Jeremy and Gracie in Anna's living room.
