I'm going to try to put a photo up here each day for a whole year.

December 28, 2010 (Day 150)

Today was kinda boring. I went to work, then came home and did some laundry. Mark had the day off, so he kinda hung around the house watching TV and playing DS. Here he is playing Lego Harry Potter.

December 27, 2010 (Day 149)

I got off work early today and Mark's phone was dead, so I couldn't get ahold of him to ask him to come pick me up. So I walked home. It took about 1.5 hours, but the weather was great. I actually got quite warm from the waist up because I was wearing a sweater under my coat. My legs were cold, though as they had only one layer of fabric. When I got home, I had a hot shower right away.
I took this picture while walking down Winnipeg St.

December 26, 2010 (Day 148)

I got an Amazon.ca gift certificate awhile back and ordered this. It just arrived today. So happy. It's like another Christmas present.

December 24 & 25, 2010 (Days 146 & 147)

Christmas this year was a little weird. Mark had to work 2-10pm on the 24th, 25th, and 26th. We opened presents Christmas morning then he missed the turkey dinner. :(

Here's Mark's cousin Dwayne who also came over for the morning.

And this is me and our niece Brandy at the Christmas service at Soul's Harbour Rescue Mission (where Mark works).

December 21, 22, & 23, 2010 (Days 143, 144, & 145)

The past few days have been hectic. I finished my training at Staples call centre, and we finished our Christmas shopping. On Wednesday night, we had a Christmas party for my neice Krystal who will be spending Christmas in Winnipeg with her in laws. We exchanged gifts with her and her kids that night.

I bought this tree at Dollarama and put it on my desk at work. I only moved to the desk on Wednesday, so I haven't had time to really make it my own yet, but I had to do something Christmasy.

December 20, 2010 (Day 142)

Their parents needed to finish Christmas shopping tonight, so I babysat my niece and nephew. It was mostly fun except for the poopy diaper I had to change.
Here's Gracie brushing her teeth. She seems to enjoy it.

Sunday, December 19, 2010

December 18 & 19, 2010 (Days 140 & 141)

For Saturday supper, I made perogies fried with onions and topped with sour cream and salsa with bacon on the side. It was delicious.

On Sunday, we hung out with family after church, then went Christmas shopping. Here's Mark with Gracie. She wouldn't sit still.

December 15, 16, & 17 (Days 137, 138, & 139)

I started a new job and I've been so busy and tired that I've forgotten to update the blog for the past few days. So here's some pictures of what I was doing those days.

This is my training classroom at the Staples call centre. I started on Monday, and I'll be in training for about a week and a half.

This is the lunchroom. Those are microwaves along the wall. There's a lot of microwaves.

On Friday night, I went to Gateway church with MIL, FIL, and my neice and nephew for a Christmas celebration. This is the horse that pulled the wagon we took a ride in.

December 13, 2010 (Day 135)

Today was my first day of training at my new job. It looks like it's a good place to work, not like the other call centre I worked at in Kamloops. *cough*Convergys*cough

December 12, 2010 (Day 134)

Regina Apostolic Church Christmas Banquet

Our church had their Christmas banquet tonight. The food was great (catered by Charlotte's Catering), and someone had decorated the gym very nicely.
Here's a picture of the ceiling:

And our table centrepiece:

December 11, 2010 (Day 133)

This is what I had for supper tonight. Mini sausage rolls with dijon mustard; hashbrowns with cheese, sour cream, and salsa; and fresh tomato wedges with seasoning salt. Mmmmm.

December 10, 2010 (Day 132)

This is our other Christmas decoration. I'm really bad this year. Usually, I've got lights and stuff all over, but moving across the country 2 months ago really used up my energy. This guy's sitting on top of the tv. Mark's mom gave him to us too.

Friday, December 10, 2010

December 9, 2010 (Day 131)

We don't have room in our tiny suite for a Christmas tree, and Mark is working Christmas Day anyway. So here's our "Christmas Tree" for this year. Mark's mom gave it to us. It has a light inside that changes colours.

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

December 8, 2010 (Day 130)

Kendal and Robyn had a Christmas party to go to tonight, so Mark and I went over and watched the kids. We had a lot of fun, even though Gracie didn't want to go to bed and Jeremy tried to steal Mark's phone.

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

December 7, 2010 (Day 129)

Theme: Tinsel

We helped Mark's mom set up and decorate her tree today. It was a lot of fun.

December 5 & 6, 2010 (Days 127 & 128)

Some random photos from around Regina this week. It's been beautiful and sunny.

This is our backyard.

This was taken through the windshield of our car, hence the spots.

December 3 & 4, 2010 (Day 125 & 126)

I didn't go anywhere yesterday or today, so I put up another picture from the Legislature Building, and a random photo from around the house.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

December 2, 2010 (Day 124)

Tonight I went to the Provincial Legislature Buildings with my SIL and BIL and their kids to watch the Christmas lights come on. Jeremy and Gracie loved the face painting and free cookies. It was hard for me to pick just one picture to put up here. I finally settled on this view of the front of the capitol building.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

November 30, 2010 (Day 122)

We went to Applebees for dinner tonight. I had the asiago chicken, and Mark had a trio sampler with riblets, shrimp, and a really yummy wrap. After dinner, we saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. I wanted to take a picture of the poster in the theatre, but they wouldn't let me since it's copyrighted.

Monday, November 29, 2010

November 29, 2010 (Day 121)

I was playing with the settings on my camera phone and here's the sepia toned results.

My niece, Gracie:

And my nephew, Jeremy:

November 28, 2010 (Day 120)

This is my neice Gracie eating mandarin oranges. She loves them. She ate 2 whole large oranges.

Saturday, November 27, 2010

November 27, 2010 (Day 119)

Theme: Tradition

Yesterday we surprised Mark's Aunty Anna with a birthday party. It was awesome.
I took this picture of Mark's mom Judy and Uncle Les preparing in the kitchen. It is very traditional for Mark's mom and aunts and uncles to be in the kitchen preparing for any event.

Friday, November 26, 2010

November 26, 2010 (Day 118)

Theme: My turkey

Since yesterday was American Thanksgiving, the blog theme was turkey - but here in Canada, we had Thanksgiving in October, so we had no turkey dinner this month.
Mark made me take this picture as he says he is my turkey.
lol

November 24 & 25, 2010 (Days 116 & 117)

It snowed a lot these past few days, so I took some shots of how Regina looks under a white blanket.

Here's the tree in our front yard.

Close up of the sparkles in the powdery snow on the back step.

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

November 22 & 23 (Days 114 & 115)

I had a job interview at a store called Helping Hands, which sells toys and school supplies.

We visited Petland and Mark coaxed a bird to climb on him.

Also at Petland, Mark had some fun with some kittens.

November 21, 2010 (Day 113)

It was -20C(-4F) today, but it was beautiful. The sun was out and the snow was so white. I took this picture after church while walking across the parking lot with the sun behind me. That's my shadow, and that's our car.

Saturday, November 20, 2010

November 20, 2010 (Day 112)

We got our 'new' (to us) car today. It's a 1998 Plymouth Breeze. We're so glad we don't have to take the bus everywhere or bum rides off friends and family anymore.

Friday, November 19, 2010

November 19, 2010 (Day 111)

So, it's -20C here today (that's -4F for the Americans), and I had to stand outside for at least 20 minutes waiting for the bus after work. Thank God we get our car today! I don't want to do this again tomorrow. I don't mind the cold so much if I don't have to stand outside in it. It got down to -40 sometimes in BC, and I lived through it. Maybe I'm also getting old. I've heard your cold tolerance goes down when you age.

Thursday, November 18, 2010

November 17 & 18, 2010 (Days 109 & 110)

The themes just don't work for me for these days, so I took some random pictures around the house.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

November 16, 2010 (Day 108)

Theme: Feet

So here's Mark's foot and my foot. I think his feet are really cute, and my feet are one of my best features. This isn't a great picture, though, and our nails need trimming. But here it is anyway.

Monday, November 15, 2010

November 15, 2010 (Day 107)

Theme: Something that scares me

This was the visibility in Regina a couple of days ago - in the morning. This scares me, since you can't see what's coming when you're trying to drive to work.

November 14, 2010 (Day 106)

Theme: Wood

This is the tree in our front yard. The snow keeps falling and then melting.
