365 Days in Photos

I'm going to try to put a photo up here each day for a whole year.

November 30, 2010 (Day 122)

We went to Applebees for dinner tonight. I had the asiago chicken, and Mark had a trio sampler with riblets, shrimp, and a really yummy wrap. After dinner, we saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. I wanted to take a picture of the poster in the theatre, but they wouldn't let me since it's copyrighted.

November 29, 2010 (Day 121)

I was playing with the settings on my camera phone and here's the sepia toned results.

My niece, Gracie:

And my nephew, Jeremy:

November 28, 2010 (Day 120)

This is my neice Gracie eating mandarin oranges. She loves them. She ate 2 whole large oranges.

November 27, 2010 (Day 119)

Theme: Tradition

Yesterday we surprised Mark's Aunty Anna with a birthday party. It was awesome.
I took this picture of Mark's mom Judy and Uncle Les preparing in the kitchen. It is very traditional for Mark's mom and aunts and uncles to be in the kitchen preparing for any event.

November 26, 2010 (Day 118)

Theme: My turkey

Since yesterday was American Thanksgiving, the blog theme was turkey - but here in Canada, we had Thanksgiving in October, so we had no turkey dinner this month.
Mark made me take this picture as he says he is my turkey.
lol

November 24 & 25, 2010 (Days 116 & 117)

It snowed a lot these past few days, so I took some shots of how Regina looks under a white blanket.

Here's the tree in our front yard.

Close up of the sparkles in the powdery snow on the back step.

November 22 & 23 (Days 114 & 115)

I had a job interview at a store called Helping Hands, which sells toys and school supplies.

We visited Petland and Mark coaxed a bird to climb on him.

Also at Petland, Mark had some fun with some kittens.

November 21, 2010 (Day 113)

It was -20C(-4F) today, but it was beautiful. The sun was out and the snow was so white. I took this picture after church while walking across the parking lot with the sun behind me. That's my shadow, and that's our car.

Saturday, November 20, 2010

November 20, 2010 (Day 112)

We got our 'new' (to us) car today. It's a 1998 Plymouth Breeze. We're so glad we don't have to take the bus everywhere or bum rides off friends and family anymore.

Friday, November 19, 2010

November 19, 2010 (Day 111)

So, it's -20C here today (that's -4F for the Americans), and I had to stand outside for at least 20 minutes waiting for the bus after work. Thank God we get our car today! I don't want to do this again tomorrow. I don't mind the cold so much if I don't have to stand outside in it. It got down to -40 sometimes in BC, and I lived through it. Maybe I'm also getting old. I've heard your cold tolerance goes down when you age.

November 17 & 18, 2010 (Days 109 & 110)

The themes just don't work for me for these days, so I took some random pictures around the house.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

November 16, 2010 (Day 108)

Theme: Feet

So here's Mark's foot and my foot. I think his feet are really cute, and my feet are one of my best features. This isn't a great picture, though, and our nails need trimming. But here it is anyway.

Monday, November 15, 2010

November 15, 2010 (Day 107)

Theme: Something that scares me

This was the visibility in Regina a couple of days ago - in the morning. This scares me, since you can't see what's coming when you're trying to drive to work.

November 14, 2010 (Day 106)

Theme: Wood

This is the tree in our front yard. The snow keeps falling and then melting.

Saturday, November 13, 2010

November 13, 2010 (Day 105)

Theme:Happiness

Happiness is getting off work after a long boring day and having A&W rather than having to cook. Mmmmm. And today is payday so we can afford to do this. :)

Friday, November 12, 2010

November 12, 2010 (Day 104)

Tried to get my Saskatchewan driver's license today. I'd been in the office before and didn't have the correct documentation to prove that I live here now. Also, my BC driver's license expired in January and they didn't like that it's not current. However, they said I can have my MIL or FIL sign for me attesting that I am who I say I am or something. So today, I had the paperwork proving I live here and FIL came with, and they said the form he has to sign must be faxed over from a head office that was already closed for the day. So frustrating!

November 11, 2010 (Day 103)

REMEMBRANCE DAY

LEST WE FORGET

November 10, 2010 (Day 102)

Today we cleaned up the kitchen and did the dishes for the first time this week. It was getting rather necessary since our kitchen is so small we don't have room for piles of dirty dishes.
This is what it looked like after we finished. I didn't think to take a before pic.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

November 9, 2010 (Day 101)

No themes for the next week or so.

Today, I went to a walk-in clinic since I've been rather sick and missing work. The doctor says I have a virus, but didn't mention which virus it might be.
To get to the clinic, Mark's parents let us use their car. I took this picture from their back lane where some trucks were working on the sewers. I thought the steam clouds looked cool.

November 8, 2010 (Day 100)

Theme: My seat

This is the chair I sit in at the computer at home. Under that comforter, it's just a wheeled desk chair, but when I sit down and wrap the comforter around me, it's so warm and comfy. :)

Sunday, November 7, 2010

November 7, 2010 (Day 99)

Theme: Dress-up

Since it is Sunday, and we are not working, we went to church. We decided to try the Ap (Regina Apostolic Church) today. It's a big church, which often makes me uncomfortable, but I felt right at home. We both really liked the service. Below is a picture of me dressed up for church.

Saturday, November 6, 2010

November 6, 2010 (Day 98)

Theme: Party

This was a perfect theme, as our niece's birthday party was today. We went to a place called It's a Blast where they have an arcade, a kids play gym, and little private party rooms you can rent for 1/2 hour. We let the kids play for awhile, then had cake and presents in a private room, then let the kids play some more while the adults chatted.

Friday, November 5, 2010

November 5, 2010 (Day 97)

Theme: Birthday

Can't do the theme today, but I found this cool thing at work. I work at one of the Brick stores in Regina, and this was displayed on one of the tables. It's a fake plant in a glass vase with fake water in it. That's really some kind of gel or something like.

Thursday, November 4, 2010

November 4, 2010 (Day 96)

Theme: Fast Food

My favourite fast food restaurants are Wendy's and A&W but I didn't go anywhere near them today. I also really like pizza and KFC, and we did have that recently, so here's the empty packages. lol

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

November 3, 2010 (Day 95)

Theme: Count your blessings

The greatest blessing in my life is my husband Mark. Here he is doing one of his favourite things: playing the guitar. The guitar is also a blessing; we found it at a pawn shop for really cheap and it came with a really nice case for free.

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

November 2, 2010 (Day 94)

Theme: What I look forward to in November

So here's the pile of boxes we still have to unpack. That's what I have to look forward to this month. lol

Monday, November 1, 2010

November 1, 2010 (Day 93)

Theme: Whatever you are doing today

I was home sick today, so Mark brought me ginger ale, and then I made chicken soup (from the box; not homemade). Now he's playing Xbox while I'm online.

October 31, 2010 (Day 92)

Theme: Me or someone I know in their Halloween costume.

I didn't dress up this year. This is our niece and nephew dressed for trick or treating. He's Venom and she's a bumblebee.

October 30, 2010 (Day 91)

Theme: Treats

I don't like Triscuits, so when I sent Mark to buy crackers and he came back with these I was disappointed until he pointed out the flavours (he also got Parmesan & Garlic). They are actually very good. I was pleasantly surprised.

October 29, 2010 (Day 90)

Theme: Tricks

Not doing the theme today 'cause I couldn't find any tricks. :P
Mark went to a restaurant here in Regina called Brewster's and these cool toothpicks were in the sandwiches so he brought them home to show me (I was at work when they went for lunch).
